What are the differences between open-enrollment classroom and virtual classes?
We offer essentially the same material in our physical and virtual classes on the same subjects. While there can never be a complete substitute for directly looking over a student’s shoulder, interpreting their looks of comprehension or puzzlement etc, the convenience and cost saving of a virtual class can easily be worth it. While all training manuals are the same, in a classroom students generally all have identical machines, pre-installed by the instructor. In a virtual class students may elect to use their own previously set up systems, or follow Linux Foundation-supplied instructions to prepare a fresh installation for class. In most cases a virtual machine can suffice, but we will not be responsible for giving tech support on how to use or deploy virtualization environments as it is outside our reasonable scope. Virtual classes may also require students to make sure to enroll as early as possible to expedite shipping class manuals on time, or incur extra express shipping charges.
