The local agent is automatically created, assigned a seed device and activated during installation of PCM v3.0 server. The remote agent software must be downloaded from the server and installed on the computer that will perform the remote agent function. During the remote agent software installation, configure the remote agent’s interaction with the PCM Server, specifically, the definition of the remote agent’s seed device and any device access parameters. The remote agent communication parameters on the PCM server must match those of the remote agent. Through the Agent Manager, mark the remote agent as activate, so it can begin to discover devices.
