What are the differences between HAST and PCT?
HAST (Highly Accelerated Stress Test) is typically done at 130°C/85%RH/230 kPa for 96 hours or 110°C/85%RH/122 kPa for 264 hours. HAST tests for moisture penetration into the bond line with delamination being the typical failure mode. PCT (Pressure Cooker Test)/autoclave test is typically performed at 121°C/100%RH/205 kPa for 96 hours. PCT also tests for moisture penetration into the bond line with typical failure modes including delamination, material breakdown, and corrosion. It is more severe than HAST.
