What are the differences between different breeds of horse?
Well, there are the draft horses, such as Clydesdales, Shires, Belgians, etc, that are not suited for dressage, but for farm work or for pulling heavy loads. The Lipizzaners on the other hand, are very graceful and are used for various means of showing. There are obvious differences between the graceful Arabian or Andalusian and the strong and powerful Belgain Warmblood or Clydesdale. Then you have the ponies. Shetlands, Welshes, and Falabellas are small and more pet like, and Thoroughbreds are used for racing and riding. Same for Quarter horses, except they are used for shorter distances. Fresians and Standardbreds are cart horses or riding. Many breeds are used for different purposes and all are very practical and enjoyable. I hope I was helpful in covering most of the groups.
