What are the differences between Crim One and Explorations?
Both Crim One and Explorations are excellent first-year programs. Students can pursue a degree in Criminology via Crim One, or via Explorations. In Crim One, students get started on the requirements for a Criminology degree right away. Additional Crim One info, including a sample course chart, is here. First-year Criminology classes might have blended levels, including second, and perhaps third-year students. Explorations courses are only open to first-year students and are interdisciplinary, combining fields such as sociology, political science, economics, gender studies, geography, among others, so students have opportunities to try other academic areas which might be of interest, alongside electives of interest (e.g. CRIM). Additional information on Explorations, including a sample course chart for Criminology via Explorations, can be found here.
