What are the differences between an Ethernet switch and a hub?

0

A switch has chips to store MAC addresses of the connected clients. Hubs do not. Therefore a switch can send packets directly to the intended computer based upon the header of the packets. Hub is different, when hub receives packets, it will broadcast packets to all the clients that are connected and that costs traffic. A switch is more efficient than a hub.
