What are the differences between a pastor, minister, deacon, bishop and reverend?
Bishops are the primary clergy, administering all sacraments and governing the church. Pastor is used in many Protestant churches, a person serving as a pastor will be assigned to a local church or congregation who may be referred to as his or her flock. Deacons play a non-sacramental and assisting role in the liturgy. Ministers may perform some or all of the following duties: conduct marriage ceremonies, funerals and memorial services, participate in the ordination of other clergy, and confirming young people as members of a local church encourage local church endeavors. Reverend is used as a prefix to the names of many Christian clergy and ministers. It is correctly called a style rather than a title or form of address.
