What are the differences, as you see them, between Tech Prep and Programs of Study, or are they the same thing? Karen?
Karen Spencer-May: A Tech Prep program a lot of times is just a two-year program, whereas when we’re looking at a Program of Study, we are looking at doing a program that has quite a few more courses-maybe 20, 25 credit hours-that we could take to the actual college campus with us. So, it’s a big difference between the two. You may also look at some academic subjects that would have a great impact on your program and include those in which the kids are also getting dual credit on. So, a Program of Study is like a package of 20 to 25 credit hours that they would take on to the community college then. Kim Green: Well, I would say, I don’t think Tech Prep and Programs of Study are the same thing. Although, certainly the foundations of Programs of Study can be found in Tech Prep because it is about connecting learner levels. It is about alignment. It is about seamlessness among learner levels.
