What are the desires for liberation from earthly existence?

0

The liberation from Earthly existence is called nirvana or moksha. I am trying to ask around here (I’m in India) and find out if there is a term for it. A friend has quoted the Bhaghavad Gita, “karmanno vadhikaraste maphaleshu kadachana,” which is a teaching to do your kharma and not worry about its fruits, for the ultimate fruit is moksha. In order to liberate oneself from Earthly existence, one must release all desires, including the desire to be liberated. I hope this helps.

The desires are for liberation, come when one realizes that earthly existence is a circle of never ending, and never fulfilling cycle of desires. Once one achieves one desire they get bored and need to seek another.Hindus believe that life is a delusion because everything is constantly changing and therefore not real. Through meditation the mind escapes from the world and finds the essence of god.Through continued practice one will break the bonds of desire and reach enlightenment, but this could take many lifetimes.
