What are the Departments strategic plans for homeless female veterans?
3:06 Sara: Thanks for your question. Homeless female veterans will be one of the key areas the Women’s Bureau will focus on. It is unconscionable that women veterans end up in homeless shelters or on the streets. The Women’s Bureau conducted Homeless Women Veterans Listening Sessions in six states and will be working with other agencies to improve services for homeless women veterans and other women veterans at risk of becoming homeless. 3:06 Comment From Jennifer Hill: The National Domestic Workers Alliance and each member-group would like to partner with the Women’s Bureau also. It is particularly important that the Women’s Bureau have a presence among vulnerable populations and in states, like Florida, where there is no state labor department. 3:06 Sara: Jennifer, Thank you for the work you do to safe guard the rights of Domestic Workers.
