The City of San Jacinto is seeing a mass move to the San Jacinto Valley (see Hemet, CaliforniaHemet and Valle Vista, CaliforniaValle Vista). As of the 2003-2004 Annual Report, released Fall 2004, the population has grown to 26,041. There is an expected population growth of 35,000 by 2008. As of the census of 2000, there were 23,779 people, 8,314 households, and 5,836 families residing in the city. The population density was 368.6/km sq (954.6/mi sq). There were 9,476 housing units at an average density of 146.9/km sq (380.4/mi sq).
