What are the deck board test requirements for “commercial” applications?
The International Building Code (IBC) does not use the word “commercial”, though the industry understands and commonly refers to construction types other than Group R, or residential, as “commercial” applications. If your deck board product is evaluated per ICC-ES™ AC174, the sample size of fifteen deck boards shall be increased to twenty-eight for both standard flexural tests and stair tread tests.
