The deadline for submitting a green card lottery application for the DV-2009 program is October 05, 2007 to December 04, 2007. This is the window of time allocated by the State Department for accepting new green card lottery applications. Every application must be reviewed and each may have its own issues – in that regard we recommend you start early! The “DV-2009” title represents the year in which the green cards will be allocated. So we process and file your application in 2007, the State Department begins the random selection process in 2008 (and notifies you if you have been selected), and all green cards (and therefore permanent residence status) are awarded in 2009.
