What are the data items from the Advance Notification and Import Declaration that ALVS utilises in the matching process?

The primary matching item will be the Declaration UCR and, where optionally completed, the DUCR Part number. Secondary matching will be made on the consignment details (commodity code with variety and weight). If the data items do not match, ALVS will notify CHIEF where an Import Entry Exception Report (EO) will be generated to the submitting importer/agent. The onus is therefore on the importer and/or agent to ensure that the Advance Notification of import submitted to RPA/Defra contains exactly the same Declaration UCR (DUCR), optionally completed DUCR Part number, commodity code with variety and weight as entered on the associated Import Declaration submitted to HMRC otherwise your consignment release decision will be delayed.
