What are the dangers of Uranium mining?

0

You will find that the Uranium ore itself contains very low concentrations of Uranium. The biggest problem related to Uranium is radon gas which it naturally emits. Of course it is doing that while it is in the ground and the radon gas can concentrate in houses. Radon can cause cancer. If you live in an area with high uranium concentrations, you likely have a radon problem. The only other problem I heard of was when they used tailings ( a byproduct of the process to concentrate the Uranium to make block which houses were built out of. There was a higher concentration of Uranium in the tallings and it resulted in houses that were overly radioactive. This happened in the western US.
