Three hundred out of every 100,000 men who go to work as Alaskan king crab fishermen die while fishing for these delicious creatures every year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This staggering number combined with thousands of injuries that also occur each year make Alaskan king crab fishing one of the most dangerous professions in the world. Most of the dangers are related to the frigid temperatures, violent waters and heavy machinery.
