The Program segment will be used to track the sources and uses of institutional funds by functional reporting classifications, such as instruction, research and public service. These reporting classifications follow NACUBO standards and support institutional reporting. In addition, the program segment will be used to track programs, projects, or activities across other segments of the Banner accounting string, similar to the relationship between subsidiary ledgers and general ledgers in UFAS. The Program codes will be created as part of the UFAS to Banner conversion. The code values will be a combination of the 3-digit Department Organization code and a sequential numbering scheme. The NACUBO Function will be incorporated into the Program segment through use of the hierarchy.
