From 31st December 2009, the rates are as follows: Jobseeker’s Benefit and Jobseeker’s Allowance – weekly personal rate of €196.00 and increases for a Qualified Adult €130.10 and Qualified Children €29.80. See Questions 13-15 below regarding changes in rates for those aged under 24 years. For Jobseeker’s Benefit, the personal rate payable depends on the claimant’s average earnings in 2008 (current governing contribution year) (See Note below). If the average weekly earnings in that year were €300 (gross) per week or more, the full personal rate of JB is payable. Where the average weekly earnings were less than €300, a reduced personal rate of JB is paid. The amount payable for any day of unemployment (Monday to Saturday) is one-sixth of the weekly rate, except for short-time workers, when it is one-fifth.
