What are the current demographics and future enrollment projections?
Enrollment in the fall of 2007 was 7,778 students ‘ the largest ever. By the year 2015, our projected enrollment will exceed 11,000. And by the year 2020, enrollment should double to approximately 15,000. Without this project, the citizens of Northeast Indiana will be denied an Ivy Tech education 42,930 times by 2020 ‘ truly ‘opportunity lost.’ Currently, our enrollment is capped due to lack of space; we are already under serving the student demand. One startling fact found in a study by Thomas P. Miller and Associates is that 100,000 Northeast Indiana skilled workers are eligible to retire within a decade. Currently Northeast Indiana has only 30,000 workers trained to take their places.
