Under Section 4.13 (5) and (6) of Chapter 4 regulations, districts are required to describe in their strategic plans their assessment strategies to determine the degree to which students are achieving the state academic standards and how information from the assessments will be used to help students who are not proficient. Districts also must describe their plans for improving students’ achievement, including specific measurable goals that are designed to attain students’ achievement goals. In addition, Section 4.52 requires districts to offer remediation to students not attaining academic standards at the proficient level or better and the assistance to be provided must be indicated in the strategic plan.
