What are the current assessment and reporting requirements for ICT at key stage 4?
Teachers must use their professional judgement to determine the most effective method of gathering evidence of pupils’ attainment to support reporting to parents. Progress in ICT must be reported as a separate subject, not only as a statement within other subject reports. While there is no statutory requirement to assess pupils formally in ICT in key stage 4, increasingly many schools are offering a recognised national qualification as part of the key stage 4 curriculum. This is the main way that pupils’ attainment is acknowledged.
