What are the criteria for assessing applications for street trading consent?

All applications will be considered individually, in accordance with the following criteria: 1. No application will be considered if the area stated is in a residential location where trading would not normally take place. 2. A consent will not be given for a location where it is not safe for customers to stand e.g. on the highway. 3. A consent will not be granted if it is in direct competition with other local traders e.g. shops/cafes etc providing similiar services. 4. The trader will be liable for the removal of litter, within 100 metres each side of their trading point. 5. The Council will determine times that trading will take place depending on the location. 6. All applications will be considered on merit. 7. Risk assessments will be carried out in accordance with guidance from LCC Highways.
