California allows reimbursement of up to $400 per child for adoption related expenses after a child’s adoption is complete. There are also additional tax credits that you may be eligible for. A tax accountant can advise on this. Some employers offer adoption incentive plans. On occasion, additional fees may be applied by the county, however, most often fees are waived for foster/adoptions. Lilliput charges a fee-for-service to provide adoption home studies or services to families wishing to adopt a child not in the foster system and who are already working with an attorney or adoption agency. We are unable to provide home studies for International adoptions.
