What are the cost savings by using a multicore cable instead of individual cables?
The reason for using an integrated multicore cable are several. One of the main reason is that you only have to lay one cable instead of up to three cables I.e. laying the cable would be one-third of the price compared to other installations. Another main reason is that it is also an increased safety to use one cable; Centralised power supply, low power 30VAC, from the central equipment. The cameras can be powered on/off centralised with individual keyswitch so no high power is present at the camera location during maintenance etc. The cable is overall screened hence increases the resistance to noise as well as improves the resistance towards lightening.
