What are the controlled, manipulated, and responding variables for a science project?
The controlled variable – also known as the control – is the group in which nothing changes at all. The manipulated variable – or independent variable – is the thing that you change in the experiment. All the other things in your experiment should stay the same. And the responding variable – the dependent variable – is the thing that changes because of the manipulated or independent variable. For more detailed explanations, check out: http://www.
