MCX proposes to have contracts typically with Six months duration in different commodities depending on the commodities and coinciding with sowing and harvesting season, where ever essential, to meet the needs of all stakeholders in the commodity ecosystem. At any point in time, there shall be 6 contracts available for futures trading, if the contract is a 6 month contract. These contracts would be approved by the relevant committees and by FMC before they are introduced. Significant efforts would be made to make the contracts as market friendly as possible and also with high market utility so that there is liquidity in the contracts.
