What are the continuing education requirements for AMTA membership and continued membership?
AMTA policy regarding continuing education (CE) states: Beginning with the first full year of Professional Active membership, a member is required to complete 48 clock hours of continuing education every 4 years or provide NCBTMB or NCCAOM-ABT certification and expiration date for renewal as a Professional Active member of AMTA.” Educational programs used to fulfill this requirement must meet the following general description: “an organized education experience directly related to massage therapy, which is offered under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.” The AMTA National Convention awards CE credits for educational programs which can be used toward the AMTA continuing education membership requirement.
