What are the consequences of underage drinking in Canada?
I’m in a province other than Ontario- but each province has relatively similar regulations: if you’re not 19, you can expect at the bare minimum to have your booze taken away and be charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol or, usually worse: minor consuming alcohol. The fines vary from province to province- here it’s around 120 bucks, I’m not sure about Ontario. If the police feel you or any of your friends is in jeopardy, which they probably will if there is a bunch of you drinking in a hotel, you can expect to be taken into custody and your parents called to come and retrieve you. In short, the consequences aren’t good. And don’t think that because you’re in a hotel room, the police won’t get called. Trust me, when you drink you’re a lot louder than you think and SOMEONE will call to complain. And if it IS just the hotel owner/manager that comes to quiet you down, he/she will have to call the police if there is no adult there with you. Why not just go to Quebec instead- Is
