What are the consequences of lying?
The breakdown of trust comes after a person is discovered to have lied. Since that part has already been covered, I am assuming you are talking about the consequences of lying before a person is found to be doing so. The consequences of lying before one is discovered to be lying are entirely internal. Every action a person takes, good or bad, has an effect on the way you internally process those actions for future reference. If you lie ten times and get away with it ten times to further some sort of self-gain, then the adjustment that will occur in the person’s thought processes will be, “Lies get me what I want and the benefit outweighs the risk.” Every lie you tell makes it more likely that you will tell another for the simple reason that lies WORK. The only way to escape this steepening downward slope is through a great degree of conscious mental effort, depending on where you currently stand on that slope. Also, any lie, no matter how well-fabricated, has a truth somewhere to count
the consequences of lying sthere is inner and outer consequences outer consequences are like someone caught you lying and you get in trouble inner consequences are everytime you lie you get better at it and when you lie you also have trouble keeping promises to people or to yourself like im going to do all my homework tonight then you procrastinate and do it the next day then its late so lying can also cause procrastination indirectly!
