What are the consequences if a district does not make its Title III AMAOs?
If a district receives Title III funding and fails to make its AMAOs in two consecutive years, it has to develop an improvement plan to address the causes of failure. The state is required to provide technical assistance during the plan development. If a district fails for four consecutive years, the state must: • Require the district to modify the curriculum, program, and method of instruction; or • Determine whether the district should continue to receive Title III, subpart 1, funding and require the district to replace personnel responsible for the failure to meet AMAOs.
