Depends on where in Ang Mo Kio you are living. Some areas are not that near to the MRT station so you will have to take a feeder bus to get there. Some of the estates are slightly older and may have not been upgraded for some time. Overall, Ang Mo Kio is a good place to live: it is pretty central and near to Orchard Road, it has a good library and town center, and it is even near to a large park (Bishan Park).
