LIABILITY – When you take students off campus for a field trip for a regular academic course, they are automatically covered by the University of Victoria’s liability insurance policy (i.e. any damage they do to the property/people you are going to visit). Please see the Liability Insurance policy summary for further information. If any of the Property Owners you are visiting would like proof of this coverage, please complete the Certificate of Insurance (online form). WAIVERS – If this is for a regular academic course then the University does not ask students to sign waivers. If there are specific dangers or hazards in the area which they are visiting, Risk Management and Insurance can give you an Informed Consent that outlines some of the dangers and hazards so that the students are aware of them.
