What are the components of the Technology Teacher Education program?
There are three components in the Technology Education Undergraduate program: Liberal Studies, Technical Studies, and Pedagogical or Professional Studies. The Liberal Studies (Arts, Humanities, Maths, Sciences) requirement for admission is 30 credits (10 courses) of university transfer courses, where 6 of these credits are in English (English Literature and English Composition). If you already have a Baccalaureate Degree, you probably have the liberal studies component completed. The Technical Studies requirement for admission is 60 credits in Information Technology, Power and Energy Technology, Materials and Products Technology and Systems Integration Technology. These credits are normally completed in the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Technology Teacher Education Program (ph. 604-432-8474).
