What are the components of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system?
• Solar PV Modules: are the front end of a PV system that converts daylight into electrical direct current (DC). • Solar Power Inverters: convert direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). • Solar PV Mounting Systems: can be ground, roof mounted as well as integrated into buildings, designed to secure the solar PV modules. • Solar Cables & Connectors: are used to connect the components • Isolators: are used to disconnect parts or all of the system for maintenance and/or in an emergency. • PV Junction Boxes: are sometimes used to combine multiple solar PV strings on the DC side before the inverter. • Monitors & Displays: Used to provide performance data.
