What are the components of a Kaleidescape System?
A Kaleidescape System is comprised of hardware components, a license to the Kaleidescape Entertainment Appliance Operating System (KEAOS), and subscriptions to the Kaleidescape Movie Guide and/or Music Guide Services and Software Update Service. A basic Kaleidescape System includes one Kaleidescape 1U Server with two Disk Cartridges (one for content storage and one for RAID-K protection), and one 1080p Player. Additional Disk Cartridges, Servers, 1080p Players, 1080p Mini Players and Music Players can expand the storage capacity, increase the number of movie and music playback zones, or make it more convenient to import DVDs and CDs into the System. The components of the Kaleidescape System communicate with each other by the household 100/1000BASE-T Ethernet, and with the Movie Guide and Music Guide Services via a secure Internet connection.
