What are the competition categories?
Preliminary competition includes Artistic Expression (Talent); Presentation and Community Achievement (Interview); Presence and Poise (Evening Wear); and Lifestyle and Fitness (Swimsuit). The final night of competition includes the Lifestyle and Fitness, Presence and Poise; Peer Respect and Leadership; Artistic Expression; and Top Five Knowledge and Understanding competitions. In Ruckus Nation, you/your team must compete in one of four different categories. The categories are defined as follows: Middle School/Junior High School Middle School/Junior High School (also known as intermediate school) covers the period of education between primary education (e.g., elementary school) and secondary education (e.g., high school). For example, in the United States, middle school/junior high school students are generally between the ages of 11 to 14 years (usually grades or education years 6 through 8). To qualify for the Middle School/Junior High School category, all team members must be enrolled in a middle school/junior high school or equivalent program (including home schooling). High School High School (also known as secondary school) covers the segment of education following middle school/junior high school.
