If you were on their insurance plan, you must be offered a continuance of the insurance (commonly referred to as COBRA) – at your expense, not theirs. You can apply for unemployment insurance benefits, which the state will contact your former employer for details of the separation and decide whether you qualify or not. Anything beyond that is up to the employer. This is all assuming you work in the US.
