What are the common treatments for curing cervical cancer?
The treatment of cervical cancer generally depends upon the carcinogenic stage, the physical status of the tumor, the age and general wellbeing of the patient, and the future pregnancy desire of the female. Early cervical cancer is usually treated by a hysterectomy (removal of the whole uterus including part of the vagina), thereby destroying the pre-cancerous or cancerous tissue. There are several surgical ways for patients, who desire to remain fertile, such as Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) or cone biopsy, using electricity to remove abnormal tissue.
