If you have a secreting tumour then this can cause excess amounts of the hormone to be produced. This can have different effects depending on what hormone is increased. If a tumour in this area is large then it may compress the optic nerve and vision will be affected. Other tumours that are aggressive and develop quickly may cause unexplained weightloss in a short period of time, night sweats, fever and fatigue. Cancers of the blood may cause symptoms of anaemia if there are too many white blood cells but not enough red blood cells.
