What are the Committees responsibilities?
The LEPC is officially tasked with establishing plans for the Title III Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Program for the County, coordinating exercises based on its plans, and serving as the Right-to-Know programs point of contact for our jurisdiction. The Mitchell County LEPC has expanded these tasks to include assisting with planning for All Hazards, not just Hazardous Materials, which affect our County. We also are creating training and exercise programs to provide training for our Countys Emergency Responders in various areas and to exercise portions of our plan.
