What are the client workstation and database server hardware requirements for the HORIZON LIMS application?

0

Minimally, HORIZON requires a Pentium class client PC, with 2 Gb hard disk and 16 Mb of memory (32 Mb is strongly recommended, particularly if other applications will be used concurrently, such as Microsoft Office products). The LIMS server and database server are typically the same machine, minimally a Pentium/200 with 3×4 Gb hard disks with RAID 5 configuration, or 2×4 hard disks with RAID 1 configuration, 256 Mb Error Correcting Memory. See Hardware Recommendations for more details. You may also want to consult with a ChemWare Systems Engineer before purchasing new equipment, since price-to-performance ratios, anticipated lab growth rate, lifecycle costs and other factors may be critical to the sizing and selection process.
