i guess you are asking elemental liquids and gasses like hydrogen, chlorine.. the chemical formula is determined by the postion in periodic table .let say halogen, which is group 17, will exist as diatom, that is X2. noble gas, group 18 will stay as monoatom because they have stable electron configuration. then we have others like P4, S8…
