A person applying for medical coder/ biller job must have knowledge of different coding system. He should have interest in looking into the depth of things. A medical coder has to be very attentive nad must note every change that takes place. He should be very careful while entering records. Along with the above mentioned points, he must be well behaved and should have good communication skills.
A keen eye for detail is imperative to preventing the entry of incorrect information which in the context of medical coding could have effects that impact a patient’s health or the care they receive. An attention to detail in the context of billing won’t be the difference between adequate or inadequate healthcare, but given the often high-price of medical care, it could mean exorbitant billing for the patient, or lost revenue for the medical facility.
