• All majors must complete 9 credits of written expression as a Core requirement. Most new COMM majors (e.g., freshmen) will fulfill these requirements with the two first-year writing seminars, and COMM 1310, Writing about Communication (renumbered 2310) their sophomore year. • Students coming to Cornell with AP English credit (with a score of 4 or higher) can place out of one of the two writing seminars, but they still must complete one FWS prior to enrolling in COMM 2310. • Transfer students must complete 6 credits of college writing before enrolling in COMM 2310. • Comm 2310 will be taught both spring and fall semesters. Students should enroll the first semester they are eligible. Students who have completed six credits of college writing by the spring semester of their freshmen year may elect to enroll in COMM 2310 their spring semester of their freshmen year. Most will take the course in the fall of their sophomore year. • Oral Communication: All COMM majors should enroll in COMM
