What Are the Changes to CCDS’s Tablet PC Insurance Coverage?

0

In an effort to provide better value at a lower cost, we are phasing out CCDS’s tablet PC insurance coverage in favor of using the Toshiba SystemGuard warranty. A SystemGuard warranty will be included with each new Portege M780 tablet PC sold, and we will not offer coverage under the previous insurance policy. This was also the case for Portege M750 and M700 tablet PCs sold previously. Only Portege M400 tablet PCs, the oldest model currently in use, will continue to be covered by the previous insurance policy and will not be covered by SystemGuard—Toshiba does not offer it except at the time a new machine is purchased. We anticipate the following benefits of this change: the vast majority of our insurance claims have been for breakage rather than for theft or other total loss. SystemGuard covers the repair of breakage for any reason up to approximately $1,500. For example, it would be possible to have a broken screen replaced and other significant case damage repaired under SystemGuard
