What are the chances of birth defects on a baby whose mother is 25 years old?
Genetic defects are not only on you but also your significant other and BOTH of your families. Genes are distributed from all these parties. You have genes from your mother, and she has some from her mother and etc. Look at everyone and you will get a good answer. If you are healthy however and only 25 and lead a healthy lifestyle then the chances of genetic defects are very low. Age 35 is when pregnancy becomes a high risk. My aunt is also pregnant and she is I believe 36 and her pregnancy is going good. It all depends on the woman and how strong her genetics are and ability to be pregnant. You will be ok though. You are past the first trimester when most miscarriages happen because of defects. Now it is all about nourishing and keeping the baby safe from harm. Good luck!
