What are the certification requirements of a temporary athletic team coach?
In accordance with 5 CCR Section 5593 any person serving at any grade level as a temporary athletic team coach must be certified in by their district to be knowledgeable and competent in the areas of: • Care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first aid, and emergency procedures; • Coaching techniques; • Rules and regulations in the athletic activity being coached; and • Child or adolescent psychology, whichever is appropriate to the grade level of the involved sports activity.
