What are the causes of post traumatic stress disorder?
There are many different reasons why a person could develop PTSD but two of the main causes are, psychological and physical trauma. Psychological trauma can be onsetted by an event that have happened to someone such as, emotional abuse or physical trauma such as rape or possibly both simutaneously. Other examples of traumas can be sexual abuse, torture, medical abuse, emotional abuse, drug addiction, illnesses, foster care, jail or bullying to name a few. The physical and psychological traumas feeds off of each other; so, it is safe to say, that they go hand-in-hand. Other stressors that may contribute to PTSD is the duration, frequency and level of intensity of the trauma. For example, let’s say you were kidnapped and tortured almost everyday by name calling, humiliation, beatings and your integrity compromised just for the sake of your survival.
