What Are the Causes of Neuroblastoma?
Neuroblastoma is the most common kind of solid tumor found outside of the brain. It arises from immature neuroendocrine cells, which are cells that are a part of the nervous system that also secrete hormones. The tumors generally begin in the adrenal gland and form a solid lump there, after which then can migrate to other areas of the body, such as the chest, pelvis, neck, and arms. Neuroblastomas have the ability to suddenly go from being malignant to totally benign for no identifiable reason.
