What are the causes of iron deficiency?
Excessive dieting, over exercising, eats junk food, lack of proper rest and over work. Also if the body is unable to absorb iron from the food eaten then too iron deficiency occurs in a person. In women heavy menstruation and a diet insufficient in iron can cause iron deficiency. If during pregnancy a woman does not take sufficient iron intake either through green vegetables and fruits or through vitamin supplements then too iron deficiency can occur. Women are more prone to iron deficiency as they lose iron from the body due to blood loss during menstruation. Iron deficiency occurs over a period of time when all the iron stored in the body gets washed out or exhausted.
